Music Special Events and Programs

First Chair Chats

The UNT Music Library periodically hosts First Chair Chats, a discussion series focused on relevant music topics. Guests specializing in music education, production, preservation, and beyond join the UNT Music Library staff in exploring music subjects. For more information or if you would be interested in collaborating on a First Chair Chats discussion event, please contact Kristin Wolski at kristin.wolski@unt.edu.

Music Cataloging Institute

The UNT Music Library hosts a Music Cataloging Institute each summer. This week-long, intensive program is conducted face-to-face and includes seminar-style instruction and hands-on practice. Both beginning music catalogers and out-of-practice catalogers seeking a refresher on music cataloging could benefit from this interactive, immersive experience. Space is limited to 10 registrants. For more information, please contact Janelle West at janelle.west@unt.edu.

Music Librarianship Interest Tea

Each year the UNT Music Library hosts an informational tea for music librarianship students and students interested in learning about careers in music librarianship. During this informal event students will meet the UNT Music Library staff and learn about opportunities in the music librarianship profession. Students are encouraged to bring questions and network with their peers and the Music Library staff. For more information, please contact Meghan Sprabary at meghan.sprabary@unt.edu.
